Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) announced an upcoming visit to McEntire Joint National Guard Base on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. DeMint's visit to the base is part of a larger effort to visit each military community in the state. DeMint previously toured and met with leadership at Fort Jackson, Shaw Air Force Base, Joint Base Charleston and Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort.
"South Carolinians are incredibly supportive of the military, and as a result, our state is an excellent host for our men and women in uniform. The communities surrounding our bases, and the state as a whole, highly value the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines based here. Our local, state and federal officials owe them our continued support as well," said DeMint. "Many of our friends and neighbors give their time, talent and even their lives to defend freedom at home and abroad, and I'm proud of the unparalleled support that South Carolina's communities show them and their families in return."
In addition to his visit to McEntire, Senator DeMint will also attend and participate in the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce Washington Night from 4-6 PM in Columbia, SC.
