Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency proposed the first Clean Air Act standard for greenhouse gas pollution from new power plants:
"I am pleased the EPA is moving forward with greenhouse gas rules to reduce the pollution that threatens our health and welfare. This is another step forward in the steady effort to limit pollution under the Clean Air Act, a process that started with automobiles and is now addressing pollution from the largest stationary sources: power plants.
"The scientific consensus is stronger than ever: greenhouse gas pollution is changing the climate and warming our planet. The EPA's work to implement federal law is moving us toward the goal of protecting the planet for our children and our grandchildren."
