There are more than 250,000 veterans in Connecticut -- men and women who have selflessly served our country. I am proud of my record of supporting our veterans in Connecticut and I will continue to stand up for them in Congress.

Fully fund veterans' benefits. My father served in the Navy and we were raised to value and support the service of our military forces. That's why I'll work to fully fund veterans' benefits and make sure they get the care they were promised and that they deserve.

Improve care for traumatic brain injuries. We must also enhance care for traumatic brain injuries, which have risen dramatically over the last decade. With thousands returning from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, we must provide state of the art medical care, and our care must keep up with changes on the battlefield.

Better opportunities for life after the military. I strongly support providing better access to college and job training for our veterans once they are home.

Support for military families, whether active duty, National Guard, or reserves. In an era of long and repeated deployments, we owe special support to all our military families.
