Congressman Tom Reed announced today that he is co-sponsoring the Small Business Tax Cut Act. "Nearly two of every three new jobs is created by a small business," Reed observed. "Small business owners in upstate New York are better at managing their money than Washington is and I support this proposal as a way to free up more money for them to expand their businesses and create more career opportunities."

During his first term in Congress, Reed has been consistently supportive of streamlining the tax code, particularly with regard to helping small job creators. The act gives small business with fewer than 500 employees a twenty percent tax deduction.

"Cutting taxes, removing unreasonable regulations, and lowering energy costs are keys to economic recovery," Reed said. "Small businesses can lead the way if we untie their hands and allow them to create the careers, products and services of the future."
