Congressman Jeff Landry (R, LA-03) is calling on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to be prepared to assist those affected by the flash flooding in Acadiana. In a letter to FEMA Administrator W. Craig Fugate, Landry asks Fugate to quickly approve any potential disaster requests from Governor Bobby Jindal.
"I ask that you begin preparations for such a request and do everything in your power to expedite federal assistance to those impacted by these storms. An expedient federal disaster response will ensure that my constituents can begin to recover from this catastrophic event." wrote Landry.
Landry hopes his letter will influence FEMA to aid South Louisiana: "Though we can't control Mother Nature, we can help our neighbors in need. I hope FEMA will do all they can to help bring a quick recovery to Acadiana."
