U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield, (KY-01), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power, released the following statement on the passing of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act.
"Today I joined my colleagues in the House of Representatives in voting for jobs by passing the bipartisan JOBS Act.
"The JOBS Act will jumpstart our economy and restore opportunities for America's primary job creators, our small businesses, startups and entrepreneurs. As we know, small businesses and entrepreneurs are the key to success, opportunity and job creation in America. By passing the JOBS Act, we cut bureaucratic red tape and uncertainty from Washington that was thwarting job creation.
"With almost 13 million Americans out of a job, I believe we must do everything we can to get people back to work. The House of Representatives has passed 30 other bills that if implemented would create jobs and boost our economy. Unfortunately, the Senate has not taken up a single one of these bills.
"Today's bipartisan JOBS Act is a great example of Republicans and Democrats working together to help get Americans back to work. I look forward to the President signing this bill into law."
