Westmoreland Named Most Conservative in the House

Statement

Date: March 13, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Westmoreland is proud to announce he has been ranked as one of the most conservative members in the House of Representatives by National Journal. Westmoreland joined fellow Georgia Representatives Tom Price (GA-06) and Phil Gingrey (GA-11) in earning the number one ranking. National Journal scored several votes on key economic, social, and foreign-policy issues during 2011. Below is Congressman Westmoreland's statement.

"We have suffered through three long years of economic turmoil under President Obama. Clearly, his liberal policies do not work. As this country faces its most difficult economic situation in generations, we need to return to our conservative principles of fiscal responsibility, limited government, and a thriving private market. It is through these values that we saw our great nation grow into the largest economic force this world has ever known.

"To me, conservative isn't just a word to be thrown around loosely to score political points. It's a core value that shapes every aspect of your life. I am proud of my conservative track record and will continue to fight for my conservative values in Congress," stated Westmoreland.
