U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-OH) today released the following statement regarding the introduction of Budget Chairman Paul Ryan's fiscal year 2013 budget:
"Chairman Ryan's budget provides leadership for solving our structural spending and debt problems. The Medicare Trustees have acknowledged Medicare is unsustainable and is one of the biggest drivers of our nation's debt. The alarm has been sounding for years; it's time we listened. Medicare needs to be strengthened and reformed for future generations while we maintain current benefits for those at or near retirement. The president has failed to provide any substantial leadership on entitlement reform. The American people deserve an honest and truthful debate on how we solve our structural deficit and debt problems. Without entitlement reform, our structural debt problems will spiral out of control."
