Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45), who has made job creation a top priority in her role as Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade, today voted in favor of the bi-partisan JOBS Act and called its passage "a huge victory" for American workers and small businesses. After being approved by the House of Representatives on a 390-23 vote, Bono Mack released the following statement:
"With nearly 13 million Americans still unemployed -- and many of them struggling to make ends meet -- passage of the JOBS Act offers hope for the future. It will help to create new jobs, stimulate the U.S. economy and boost prosperity. This is a huge victory for American workers and small businesses, in particular. Supported by President Obama, I strongly urge the Senate to immediately take up this critically important legislation and pass it without delay. After nearly three years of the unemployment rate at 8 percent or higher -- the longest such stretch since the Great Depression -- out-of-work Americans are counting on this help, and we must not let them down."
