Congressman James Lankford (R-OK) said President Obama and the Senate need to get out of the way of America's job creators after today's jobs report showed unemployment remained unchanged at 8.3%.
"Today's jobs report can be easily summed up by contrasting yesterday's events in Congress," said Congressman Lankford. "The House overwhelmingly passed the bipartisan JOBS Act, while the Senate blocked development of the Keystone XL Pipeline again. With millions of Americans looking for work, the federal government must lead, follow or get out of the way."
"Construction of the Keystone Pipeline would immediately pave the way for job creation and economic growth while also increasing energy independence. The JOBS Act tears down obsolete barriers for startups and small businesses, increasing private investment into the economy by providing easier access to the formation of capital."
"Trying to control the private sector economy is keeping millions of American out of work. We have an opportunity to change the unemployment number released this morning. It is time for the Senate to do its part by passing the JOBS Act and increasing energy production."
