Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) released the following statement on CBO's increased cost projections for the President's health care law.
"The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) recently recalculated the cost of the President's health care law. It turns out that implementing the law will actually cost even more than originally estimated. CBO is now estimating the law will cost $1.76 trillion over a decade instead of the $940 billion projected when the law was passed.
"It's now clear that a market-based approach would have been far superior in containing costs, providing quality care and increasing access to health care. In the coming months, House Republicans will continue to work to repeal the President's health care law and replace it with a responsible, market-based alternative."
