Congressman Jim Matheson today issued the following statement as the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee policy conference convened in Washington:
"Much is unsettled in the Middle East region, but one thing is certain -- the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel. A nuclear Iran would not only be a grave danger to Israel but also to the United States and our allies. It would also carry the risk of Iranian nuclear weapons technology potentially ending up in the hands of terrorist groups who would not hesitate to harm Americans and other freedom-loving people. Iran should take note of U.S. resolve and should immediately accept international atomic energy inspectors and cease its violent rhetoric against Israel," said Matheson.
