Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) released the following statement after the House Ways and Means Committee (which he sits on) approved H.R. 452 Medicare Decisions Accountability Act which would repeal the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) established in the President's health care law.
"I am glad to see Chairman Camp bring this important and bipartisan legislation to repeal IPAB before the Committee for consideration and look forward to its consideration on the floor in the near future. Repealing IPAB is vitally important to preserving health care quality and access for seniors and people with disabilities. Patients and their doctors, not a panel of unelected bureaucrats, should be making important health care decisions. This legislation will protect this important relationship."
