Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) released the following statement regarding the nation's February unemployment numbers:

"Three years ago, the Obama administration said that unemployment would never reach 8 percent if the "stimulus" was approved. Today, unemployment continues to hover above 8 percent for over 36 consecutive months, the longest span since the Great Depression."

"The Department of Labor's jobs report continues to demonstrate the failed policies of this Administration. House Republicans have a Plan for America's Job Creators and it's time for the President and Democrats in the Senate to stop blocking our jobs bills."
