Etheridge Statement on Federal Marriage Amendment

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) issued this statement today in response to the U.S. House's vote today on House Joint Resolution 106, a constitutional amendment on same-sex marriage. The legislation failed to garner the necessary two-thirds vote.

"I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. Today I voted for this amendment to protect North Carolina laws and North Carolina values."
