Today, U.S. Representative Jim Renacci (OH-16) released the following statement following his vote in favor of the conference report to The Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act:

"Included in the final version of the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act is a provision granting states the flexibility to redirect a portion of unemployment benefits to an employer in exchange for that business hiring an unemployed worker. That is an idea I first brought forth in my EMPLOY Act. It is an innovative concept that will get people back to work, while at the same time saving taxpayer dollars.

"I am glad House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp recognized the benefits my idea would bring to our sagging labor market. I greatly appreciate that he fought alongside me to ensure it remained an integral part of the reforms found in this package. If states choose to implement the program, I am confident we will see new jobs created and more Americans back at work."
