U.S. Representative Daniel Webster (FL-08) issued the following statement following passage of H.R. 3630, the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012:
"Back in December, the Senate and the Obama Administration refused to give tax certainty to millions of hardworking Americans by rejecting the idea of a full-year extension of the payroll tax holiday. A full-year extension injects certainty in the budget planning that most families and small business owners go through each year.
"I share Central Floridians' frustrations with the inability of Washington to do something as simple as continuing tax relief for working Americans who are seeking stability during this difficult economy. While it has been unsettling to see how long it takes for lawmakers in Washington to recognize the importance of tax relief and certainty in a tough economy, I'm at least pleased the deliberations resulted in a collaboration that will put up to $1,000 in the pockets of most middle-class Americans.
"The President should not waste any time signing this full-year tax holiday," said Representative Webster.
