Issue Position: Hunters and Anglers
Hunters, anglers, and sportsmen and women are a vital part of Colorado's culture and economy. Hunters and anglers help preserve public and private lands through their stewardship, license fees, and the Habitat and Migration Bird stamps.
Joe Miklosi will ensure the preservation of public lands for all hunters, and anglers that treat public lands with respect and leave the lands better off than they found them.
Additionally, preserving access to lands for hunters and anglers will be a priority. It is important to preserve hunting opportunities and access to responsible programs and funds that are dedicated to opening up public and private lands. Representative Miklosi is concerned about streamlining public land drilling permits because it would reduce access for hunters and anglers. Representative Miklosi's opponent strongly supports reduced hunter and angler access to lands.
Hunters and anglers provide a valuable return on investment for Colorado's economy. For every federal dollar that is spent on conservation, there is a four dollar return on investment. This includes outfitters, guides, mom and pop service stores that sell bait and merchandise, and other stakeholders.
Joe Miklosi believes that law abiding citizens have a right to own guns to hunt and to protect themselves.
