Governor Kitzhaber released the following statement after the Senate passed SB 1580, a cornerstone of Oregon's plan to help address the skyrocketing cost of health care to the state, to families, and to businesses. The bill, which creates locally based Coordinated Care Organizations for the Oregon Health Plan will now be considered by the Oregon House.

"The vote today brings us one step closer to creating a more sustainable health care system through improved health and reduced waste and inefficiency. I urge the House to act quickly so that we can roll up our sleeves and get to work," said Governor Kitzhaber.
