Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27) supports the Energizing America through Employment Act, the companion bill to S. 2041 sponsored by Senator John Hoeven. Rep. Farenthold is a co-sponsor of this job creating legislation that pushes for approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline and will put thousands of Americans to work. Rep. Farenthold had the following comments:
"The Keystone XL Pipeline is a shovel ready infrastructure project key to job creation, reducing our dependence on foreign oil and putting America on a path to energy independence. The President has already buckled under political pressure from special interest groups by not approving this pipeline, jeopardizing the interests of hardworking Americans ready to get back to work. This oil needs to come to America not China.
"The energy sector is an American job creator, particularly in South Texas, and the Keystone XL Pipeline allows them to safely tap into resources close to home instead of sending this oil overseas to our competitors. We know how to refine heavy oil in Texas in an environmentally friendly way because we've been doing it for years."
