Davis Statement on President Obama's FY2013 Budget

Congressman Geoff Davis issued the following statement in response to today's release of President Barack Obama's $3.8 trillion budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2013:

"The national debt and recurring federal deficits jeopardize the future of our economy and job creators.

"The President's Budget calls for more borrowing and massive tax increases, all to support increased government spending in the face of a $15 trillion debt and unacceptably high unemployment rate."

"Budgets are all about choices. The Senate led by Senator Harry Reid has chosen not to pass a budget in more than 1000 days. With his budget today, the President has chosen to present Congress with a plan that raises taxes and refuses to address the serious economic and fiscal challenges we face as a nation.

"We must have a better plan to redirect our nation toward growth and prosperity. To increase our competiveness we need to reduce spending and the size of government, streamline regulations, and fundamentally reform our tax code to unleash the full potential of America's economy."
