Rick Perry on U.S. Senate Passing Congressional Insider Trading Ban

Statement

Location: Austin, TX

Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement on the U.S. Senate's passage of a ban on insider trading among members of Congress:

"As one of the first to call for the criminalization of insider trading among members of Congress, I am pleased by the U.S. Senate's action to ban this unethical practice. The preliminary passage of a congressional insider trading ban is an important victory in the battle to reform business as usual in Washington, and I hope the House will quickly follow suit. We have much work ahead in the effort to overhaul Washington, reign in its out of control spending and scale back federal overreach, and I will continue working with conservative reformers to make Washington as inconsequential in Americans' daily lives as possible."
