Rep. Becerra on 400 Days of a No Jobs Agenda Congress

Statement

Date: Feb. 8, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Today marks the four hundredth day of the "do-nothing" 112th Congress. To mark the occasion, Representative Xavier Becerra (CA-31), Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, released the following statement:

"The fact of the matter is that after four hundred days in control, Congressional Republicans have failed -- time and again -- to put forward a clear jobs plan. Instead, they have fought to end the Medicare guarantee, increase health care costs for seniors, and protect tax breaks for the wealthiest few.

Too many politicians are not listening to the American people. Congress must focus on the priorities of the American people: educating our youth, creating millions of good paying jobs and strengthening the middle class. Four hundred days is too long to wait -- this Congress must act now to put our economy and country back on track."
