Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today released the following statement after voting in favor of the Fiscal Responsibility and Retirement Security Act (H.R. 1173) which repeals the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Act:
"There is bipartisan agreement the CLASS Act cannot be administered in a fiscally sound way," said Smith. "The Obama Administration acknowledges the CLASS Act is too costly to legally implement. Repealing this flawed program is the responsible thing to do so there is no way for the courts to impose its unaffordable price tag."
