Mack: Obama's European Model for America Would Destroy our Nation

Statement

Date: Jan. 24, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14) released the following statement in response to President Obama's State of the Union Address this evening:

"After a record of higher government spending, higher taxation and higher unemployment, the President's prescription for America tonight is to punish job creators and condemn success in the private sector. In 2010 Americans said "enough' to President Obama's European style of social engineering and it's appalling that tonight's speech just offered more of the same to put us on a path like Greece. During his time in office, unemployment has risen from 7.8% to 8.5% and President Obama refuses to admit that his policies and leadership have failed and he continues to blame others.

"Despite unfulfilled promises and failed economic policies from previous State of the Union addresses, Barack Obama tried to use tonight's speech as a platform to boost his campaign, and Americans deserve better. America needs a Commander-In-Chief not a campaigner-in-chief."
