Issues: Labor Unions

I have publicly proclaimed my solidarity with Organized Labor and the working people of America for many years. You can count on me to ALWAYS stand by these principles. As your next Congressman in IL-13, I will set these priorities:

* Preserve collective bargaining rights for public and private sector working people

* Proudly co-sponsor the "Employee Free Choice Act"

* Work toward extending Medicare to all American citizens to ensure access to quality health care, rein in wasteful spending, and improve treatment options

* Ensure the viability and integrity of Social Security, a contract between generations, and our basic social safety nets Medicare and Medicaid

* Work tirelessly to bring good-paying full-time jobs to Illinois through infrastructure projects, sustainable energy policy, and promotion of research and development

* Push to renegotiate our position within NAFTA, CAFTA, and other similar trade agreements to reduce off-shoring of American jobs

* Work to increase the minimum wage

* Support the Second Amendment

* Refocus our priorities on American jobs and fully funding education to ensure competitivenes in global markets
