With South Carolina's Primaries just a little over a week away, GOP Presidential Candidates are making their way through the Palmetto State. Thursday, Rick Santorum made several stops in the Lowcountry, holding campaign rallies and town halls.

During the Hilton Head Island rally, Rick's brother, Dan, introduced him to the large crowd at the Westin Resort.

Santorum said he was excited to be back on the island, telling the crowd he has been visiting the island for years since it is where his brother's family lives.

Santorum was greeted by quite a crowd on Hilton Head Island as he made his way through the lowcountry on his Faith, Family, and Freedom tour.

"Give us the opportunity," said Santorum. "No one will work harder, stand for the values that made this country great from the stand point of faith and family to our strong national security to believing in free markets and free people than I will and that's why I'm asking for your support."

Santorum took the opportunity to get his message out, sharing his views on a number of hot topics from the economy to healthcare.

"I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for Obama Care," said Santorum. "If it wasn't for Obama Care, Karen and I with our 7 children ages 20 to 3, are you kidding me, run for President. How easy you think that is, running all over the country, but we felt called to do it because I believe Obama care is the straw that broke the camel's back."

Many in this crowd are throwing their support behind him.

"He's just such a good man and I really think his character is what we need to the White House," said Samantha Neville, Hilton Head Island.

"I think he's intelligent," said Samantha Oppenheimer. "He puts faith and family first and I would love to see our country go back to that basic belief. This is the second time I've heard him speak and I'm even more impressed now."

Santorum says he's excited to see all of this support and is hoping to do well in South Carolina.

"If the response I'm getting here is any indication, we've got a good chance of doing well here," said Santorum.

While he's not the front-runner now, supporters say don't count Santorum out.

"I think people get wrapped up in that a lot, as to who's the front runner. We need to focus on and I think that's not the case," said Donna D'Amico. "Don't ever underestimate the underdog and I think he's not as much of an underdog anymore."

Santorum says he's pretty much moved his family into South Carolina for the next two weeks. He says this is the first state where he can really spread his wings. He says they've raised a bit of money and is able to get tv ads for the first time.
