Press Release

Date: Dec. 14, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Representative Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump), voted in favor of H.R. 3630 the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2011.

Fincher said, "We must get folks back to work with commonsense solutions and save small businesses from overreaching regulations. I urge the Senate Democrats to support and vote on this bill immediately to get hard-working Americans into good jobs and help our struggling economy get back on its feet."

This act protects all workers from a tax increase in January 2012 saving the average American family $1000. This bill is paid for with bipartisan agreed spending cuts, 90 percent of those cuts having been proposed by President Obama.

H.R. 3630 freezes pay for government workers, including members of Congress, and reforms programs that are riddled with waste, fraud, and abuse. These savings total up to about $183.4 billion in government programs. H.R. 3606 also repeals and saves $8 billion in ObamaCare mandatory funding from the public health slush fund.

The bill will also accelerate a decision on the bipartisan Keystone XL energy pipeline, which will create an estimated 100,000 high paying domestic jobs and will support American energy independence. This bill will also stop the EPA's Boiler Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) regulation, which will protect more than 200,000 jobs and keep down rising energy costs.
