Kline's Bipartisan Legislation Ensures Delisting of Gray Wolves Not Threatened by Future Litigation

Location: Washington, DC

Congressman John Kline issued the following statement today after Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar announced that gray wolf populations in the Great Lakes Region, including Minnesota, no longer require the protection of the Endangered Species Act:

"Today's announcement is welcome news for Midwest farmers and livestock producers, but it does not eliminate the need for the certainty provided by my bipartisan legislation, which would give states jurisdiction over the wolves within their own borders and ensure this development is not threatened by future litigation."
