U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today released the following statement on the death of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il.

"From a historical perspective, Kim Jong-il's reign was one of terror, oppression and brutality to his own people. I hope the Administration will signal to our allies in South Korea and Japan that we will stand behind them as power is transferred in North Korea. Anytime you have a vacuum in an unstable place like North Korea, it is dangerous for the world at large."
