Cornyn: Both Chambers Should Do Their Job

Statement

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, a member of the Senate Budget and Finance Committees, today issued the following statement after the House of Representatives called on the Senate to return to Washington to iron out differences between the House and Senate versions of the payroll tax extension bills.

"Washington has just gone through a spirited debate. Both Houses of Congress have cast their votes, the House majority has appointed conferees and it is now time for Senator Reid to do the same. The American people are watching and it is time for both Houses of Congress to do their job."
