Statement on Tentative Agreement Between Boeing and the International Association of Machinists

Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Tim Scott (R-SC) released the following statement regarding news of a tentative agreement being reached between the Boeing Company and the International Association of Machinists.

"The tentative agreement between Boeing and the IAM certainly appears to be good news for South Carolina and the workers at the North Charleston plant. Anytime we can keep jobs in our state it is a great thing.

However, this outcome does not whitewash the fact that the NLRB has become a biased, politically-driven organization. While it was originally created to be an impartial referee, in recent years it has become anything but. My colleagues and I will continue to fight against the organization's attempts to overreach their authority, as evidenced by our vote today on the Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act."
