Bill Johnson Applauds Actions To Honor Our Nation's Veterans

Statement

Date: Nov. 17, 2011
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Veterans

Today, Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement applauding the actions of the House Natural Resources Committee for unanimously passing H.R. 2070 -- the "World War II Memorial Prayer Act of 2011." This legislation will now go before the entire House of Representatives for an up or down vote.

"Today the House Natural Resources Committee stood up and honored our nation's veterans who have served us so honorably. By passing this bill out of committee, it is one step closer to becoming law. It is fitting that this prayer be added to the World War II Memorial because it gave comfort and strength to our nation and our brave warriors as they advanced the ideals of freedom and liberty across the world," said Bill Johnson.

Bill Johnson added, "The House and Senate must pass this bill and President Obama should sign it into law. It's the least we can do to honor those who risked everything to advance the cause of freedom and stop the spread of tyranny throughout the world."
