U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, MI-08, today introduced a bill that would prohibit new taxes or new regulations on U.S. employers for two years, including the massive new health care law implemented by the Obama Administration.

"Job creators are currently sitting on approximately $2 trillion in unused capital and untold numbers of job opportunities because they do not know their regulatory costs for the next two years," Rogers said. "Businesses of all sizes need the certainty necessary to determine how much the government will cost them before they seek to grow and expand."

The bill is part of a 12-point legislative strategy to remove obstacles and create incentives for entrepreneurs and job provides to invest and expand to create jobs without fear of government repercussion.

The largely bipartisan initiatives include environmentally responsible energy exploration that would create more than 1 million jobs and keep billions of dollars on U.S. shores; cracking down on Chinese currency manipulation, which would create more than 2 million American jobs; and stopping China's cyber theft of American intellectual property, which could save up to $250 billion each year.

To keep track of his plan, Rogers has launched a Jobs Tracker on his website at mikerogers.house.gov, where people can track the status of these bills as they work their way through the legislative process.

"America has the greatest middle class on the face of the Earth, and it is worth defending," Rogers said. "Now more than ever would be a terrible time to introduce new taxes or regulatory burdens that will threaten middle-class jobs or see them shipped to foreign countries that are hungry to steal our way of life."
