Rep. Farenthold Disappointed in Balanced Budget Amendment Vote

Statement

Date: Nov. 18, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27) expressed disappointment over the failure of the House of Representatives to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:

"At a time when Americans work to tighten their belts and live within their means, it is unfortunate my colleagues could not agree to this common sense solution that many of them voted for in the past. Only a Balanced Budget Amendment can truly cut up the credit cards that fuel Washington's addiction to spending. The American people want a government that is responsible and accountable, and today, we failed to meet this standard."
