"Perhaps no custom reveals our character as a Nation so clearly as our celebration of Thanksgiving Day. Rooted deeply in our Judeo-Christian heritage, the practice of offering thanksgiving underscores our unshakable belief in God as the foundation of our Nation and our firm reliance upon Him from Whom all blessings flow."
-President Ronald Reagan (1986)
Thanksgiving is a time for families to come together and reflect upon the past year. It is also a time to give thanks for the many blessings we sometimes take for granted. Through all the highs and lows, we should be thankful for those who have been put in our paths to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement.
This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for my wife, my four children, my two grandchildren, and my parents, whose marriage of 61 years is an amazing example for us all. I am thankful to live in a country that allows me, the son of a barber, to represent you in our nation's capitol. I am thankful for all the kind thoughts and prayers you extend to me in your letters and emails. I am thankful for our military serving overseas (far from their families) to keep us safe here at home.
I feel truly blessed to live in the United State of America and I wish you and your family a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
