We must never forget the sacrifices made by our veterans and active duty service men and women. These fine Americans and their families made lifelong commitments to our nation and their service has been a foundation for our freedom and prosperity. They answered the nation's call and selflessly put their lives on the line to defend us.
Their dedication and commitment to our country will never be forgotten, and I am privileged this weekend to continue to honor our veterans here in the 12th district. Today is also an important time to remember the young men and women serving overseas; separated from their friends and family to serve our great nation and protect our freedoms. Our community has lost 37 service members since September 11th, 2001.
The United States must continue to honor its commitment to all of those who have served. As your Congresswoman I will never stop fighting for those who fought for us. This Veterans Day, please join me in honoring all the men and women who have given so much to keep our nation safe.
