Congressman Leonard Boswell (IA-3) today released the following statement regarding the House passage of the VOW to Hire Heroes Act:
"This is a great step towards supporting our veterans, especially those returning from their service overseas. This measure will not only benefit them but also our small businesses by providing incentives when hiring an unemployed veteran. It also allows for retraining assistance for veterans who've had difficulty finding employment. Our own Iowa National Guard recently reported 20 percent of returning servicemen and women were unemployed. This legislation will help curb that number and aid in the recovery of our economy."
