South Carolina Congressman Jeff Duncan released the following statement for Veterans Day:
"On Veterans Day we are reminded that 'Freedom isn't Free.'"
"This week my family and I had the privilege of visiting and honoring many of our troops and veterans. Earlier this week, my wife Melody attended the South Carolina Honor Flight trip, accompanying dozens of World War II veterans from the Upstate to Washington, DC to visit war memorials. I spent this past week visiting with our armed forces in Afghanistan and Iraq, and will be spending Veterans Day with wounded and recovering soldiers at a US military medical facility in Germany. I am honored to have been able to share this time with these brave men and women, and cannot thank them and their families enough for the sacrifices they have made for our nation. Spending time with our soldiers only reinforces the view that we have a sacred responsibility to support our troops both on the battlefield, and when they return home. We must honor the promises made to those who have answered our nation's call to service."
"I urge everyone to spend Veterans Day thanking those who have served our country in uniform. May God continue to bless our troops, our veterans, their families, and the United States of America."
