Congressman Bill Shuster issued the following statement on the October jobs report:
"Today the Department of Labor reported the 33rd consecutive month of unemployment above 8 percent. October's meager job growth underscores the need for the President step up to the plate and pressure Majority Leader Harry Reid to act on the twenty jobs bills already passed by the House this year. Twenty bills that now sit collecting dust in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
While the President has been busy traveling the nation making speeches, the House of Representatives has been busy working to pass a series of bills that remove obstacles to private sector job growth, reduce the heavy hand of government from small businesses and create regulatory certainty in an uncertain market.
The American people demand action on jobs and the House of Representatives has answered. Our work and the will of the American people should not be abandoned at the doorstep of the Senate. It is time for Leader Reid to act."
