Turner's Veterans Day Message

Press Release

Date: Nov. 11, 2011
Issues: Veterans

Congressman Bob Turner (NY-09) released the following statement today to express his thanks to and recognition of Veterans:

"Today on Veterans' Day, we pause as a nation to reflect on and give thanks for the service and sacrifice of our men and women who have worn the uniform. Their sacrifice has enabled generations of Americans to fully enjoy our sacred rights to life, liberty and happiness. In times of war and times of peace, our soldiers embody the values that lie at the heart of America: honor, duty, strength, and a love of family and country. They are our leaders and role models, and pillars of our community.

As we observe this Veterans' Day, we must not forget the love and support of the families and friends who have supported our soldiers at home. And let us never forget those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. On behalf of the people of the Ninth District of New York, I thank all those who have served and who have sacrificed for our grateful nation."

Congressman Bob Turner, a veteran of the United States Army, represents New York's 9th Congressional district and serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, and House Committee on Homeland Security.
