Pelosi Statement on DC Circuit Court Ruling Health Reform Constitutional

Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Affordable Care Act is constitutional:

"Today's decision is good news for America's families, seniors, young adults, and workers: another court has confirmed that the Affordable Care Act is constitutional.

"With this law, more than 2 million seniors have received a discount on their prescription drugs and more than 22 million seniors have received free preventive services. An additional 1 million young people have gained insurance by staying on their parents' plans, and up to 17 million children with pre-existing conditions are now protected from discrimination.

"We are confident that the Supreme Court will affirm and uphold today's ruling -- ensuring that these Americans continue to benefit from this law and that millions more will face lower health costs and gain greater access to high-quality medical care in the future."
