Issue Position

For our community of Northeast Jackson and the Reservoir to fully reach its potential, our residents must first feel safe in their own homes and businesses. I grew up here during a time when it seemed like crime did not exist in our neighborhood. Unfortunately that has not been the case recently. Our home has been burglarized twice, and I support new and innovative ways for fighting crime in our community. Recruiting and retaining top-quality detectives and forensic investigators at the State Crime Lab will help ensure that state and local police and prosecutors can better investigate, prosecute, and prevent home invasions and auto burglaries in our community. Where local investigative work can be combined into a more effective and efficient detective force, I will fight at the state and local levels to make that happen. By working together, we can and will reclaim our neighborhoods.
