In Oxford and Lafayette County, we know that quality community and economic development begin in the classroom. Mississippi''s schools need to be just as efficient and effective. High-performing schools need to be allowed to perform to their full capability and underperforming schools need to be held accountable. We need to improve early childhood education to break the cycle of poverty that has held us back. It''s time that we undertake real reforms that will make our good schools excellent and our bad schools better.
