Working together with Jeff Van Drew, Nelson Albano and Matt Milam are fighting to:

* Cap state spending and relieve the burden on hardworking taxpayers
* Prohibit politicians from accepting gifts from lobbyists
* Bring home South Jersey's fair share of state resources and money
* Improve access to affordable health care and prescription drugs

Protect South Jersey jobs and grow our state economy
Between the rising cost of living and weakening job security, our families are struggling to make ends meet in these tough times. That's why Nelson and Matt are investing in local small businesses to protect jobs and grow South Jersey's economy. They know firsthand what it takes to create jobs--Matt runs his family's trucking company in Vineland, which provides over 100 local jobs.

Nelson and Matt are working to help small business owners by eliminating exorbitant fees, cutting red tape and providing other incentives. To strengthen casino workers' job security, they sponsored the bill that would enable the casinos to stay open during a State government shutdown and provide funding for casino regulation during periods when annual appropriations are not in effect. They also sponsored the amendment to the State Constitution that proposes continued operation of lotteries, casinos and horse racing in event that annual appropriations law is not enacted. Together with Senator Van Drew, Nelson and Matt will continue to support incentives that bring new, quality jobs to South Jersey and fight for state funding to support our local industries.

Cap state spending and relieve the burden on hardworking taxpayers
Families across New Jersey are tightening their belts to live within their means--and it's time state government did the same. Nelson and Matt support a state spending cap because they don't want to see our tax dollars going toward wasteful pet projects. They fought to lower taxes by introducing a proposal for a constitutional amendment that would require a 2/3 majority vote for bills proposing a new or increased State tax, fee, surcharge or civil penalty.

Together with Senator Van Drew, they fought to cut taxes for small businesses and to restore property tax rebates for homeowners. But more needs to be done. Nelson and Matt support commonsense accountability, including granting the State Comptroller the power to identify and recommend budget reductions for certain State agencies and authorities, as well as requiring State departments to prove that it is more cost effective to contract out for work than performing the services themselves.

Prohibit politicians from accepting gifts from lobbyists
Nelson and Matt are neighbors, community leaders and small business owners--not career politicians. That's why they support legislation that prohibits politicians from accepting gifts from lobbyists. Working alongside Jeff Van Drew, they are advocating for tougher election laws to keep corruption out of our state government.

Bring home South Jersey's fair share of state resources and money
With all the taxes we pay, South Jersey deserves more than budget leftovers. Together with Senator Van Drew, Nelson and Matt are a powerful voice making sure we get our fair share of state resources. They've secured funding for tourism, open space preservation and economic development and will continue to advocate for critical projects, such as additional tourism funding to support the local economy in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties.

Improve access to affordable health care and prescription drugs
Health care is a right, not a privilege--and tough economic times should not mean our children, families and seniors are denied they quality care they deserve. Nelson and Matt know that small businesses are struggling with rising insurance premiums. That's why they're fighting to keep insurance affordable by reducing premium costs and lowering administrative expenses. They increased funding for local hospitals, and are fighting to construct the South Jersey Regional Veteran's Health Care Facility, ensuring that our veterans receive the quality care they deserve.

Together with Senator Jeff Van Drew, Nelson and Matt are committed to ensuring seniors living on fixed incomes can afford need prescription drugs. They are fought to fully-fund New Jersey's Senior Gold and PAAD programs, and are working to reduce drug costs directly by taking on pharmaceutical companies who put their profits before the best interests of consumers.
