Rep. Calvert (R-CA) congratulates the Hasemeyer Family on their upcoming appearance on CNN's Anderson Cooper Show this Friday at 4:00pm EST. In 2008, Jaci and Eric Hasemeyer were Rep. Calvert's Angel's in Adoption Awardees.
"I'm looking forward to watching the Hasemeyer's appearance. They are an incredible couple that has repeatedly opened their home and hearts to children in need of a family," said Rep. Calvert. "I was honored to nominate them for the Angel's in Adoption award and could not think of a more deserving couple to be featured for their adoption and foster care work."
Jaci and Eric Hasemeyer have been licensed foster parents since 1998. They have fostered over 30 children and have adopted eleven of those children. Both Jaci and Eric realigned their careers to care for their foster, adopted and biological children. Jaci, a school teacher, chose to stay home to focus her full attention on the needs of her family. Eric ended 22 years in the financial services industry to complete a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. He is now a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
The Hasemeyers have also been active in the foster care ministry in their church. They work with members of the church in promoting foster care awareness and were the catalyst for the "Walk Your Talk Walk," an annual event in Riverside, CA, which raises community awareness of children in the local foster system.
