Congressman Rob Woodall issued the following statement after supporting the passage of the three pending trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea:
"Nations with the most trade "freedom'--meaning the lowest tariffs and fewest regulatory barriers--have the highest Gross Domestic Products, lowest income inequality, and lowest unemployment rates. I am laser-focused on restoring economic prosperity to America. The U.S. has a manufacturing trade surplus with all 17 countries with which we currently have trade agreements. Each trade surplus means additional well-paying American jobs. In the Seventh District alone, exports account for over 9,000 jobs. Statewide, there are over 82,000 Georgians whose jobs rely on exporting American-made goods to our trading partners. Passing three trade agreements will boost demand for American products, create billions of dollars in sales opportunities for American businesses, and create thousands of jobs, all without spending one penny of taxpayer money or borrowing a single dollar from the Chinese."
