Stafford is helping lead the Commonwealth to its number one ranking in the country for business competitiveness. Ranked as one of the best places to get ahead, and achieving one of the highest median household incomes, Stafford consistently scores well amongst its national and regional peers.

Unemployment in Stafford is lower than Virginia's average, and 3.6 points below the national average. In a state where new jobs and business formation has led the nation, Stafford ranks second in job growth and fourth in business growth. Stafford is projected to see another 9 percent increase in jobs during 2011. With these jobs comes revenue growth to fund core local services such as education, public safety, and quality of life enhancements, as well as local employment opportunities for our residents.

As our Delegate in Richmond, Mark will be guided by the principles of free enterprise and entrepreneurship. Mark understands that government doesn't create jobs; only the private sector and hard working individuals with the entrepreneurial spirit create jobs.
