Congressman Marsha Blackburn issued the following statement today on her vote for H.R. 2250, the EPA Regulatory Relief Act of 2011. The bill would alleviate the excessive regulatory burden placed on employers by the EPA's Boiler MACT rules by replacing them with sensible, achievable rules that do not destroy jobs.
"EPA's excessive regulations are killing businesses and destroying job creation in this country," Blackburn said. "If we are going to create an environment that will encourage economic growth, we need to get government out of the way. This legislation offers common sense solutions to rolling back EPA's Boiler MACT rules in order to put in place a more balanced approach that will give companies the flexibility they need to comply with the rules while still protecting their ability to grow and create new jobs."
