Peter Vidrine is unashamedly 100% Pro-Life from conception to natural death.

While some in our state legislature have sincerely tried to end abortion in Louisiana, their unwillingness to face the giant has proven to be a losing battle. The war is not over, however, to most in Louisiana, who know in their hearts that the needless murder of innocent babies, for whatever purpose, is an unacceptable disgrace and stain on our society.

The not-yet born child, whose life begins at conception, is a human being created in God's image. The first obligation of Louisiana's law must be to prevent the shedding of innocent blood. It is, therefore, our duty as a sovereign State to secure and safeguard the lives of those have not-yet been born.

I have always detested the word "abortion". It is a play on words to soften the reality of what this heinous act is, as though it is some abortive process. The premeditated act of taking the life of the pre-born child is murder.

Quoting Operation Rescue, "If you believe abortion is murder, then ACT like it's murder!", most in our State know that abortion is murder and have been waiting for a very long time to see an end to that barbaric crime. The reality is, playing back and forth with the feds and their crony judges has never nor will ever put an end to stripping children of their right to live.

I will wholeheartedly sponsor a revision to our Louisiana Revised Statutes, RS14:30.1 (A), to include the following or similar verbiage in the definition of second degree murder: "When the offender has a specific intent to kill or to inflict great bodily harm on a child which has not yet been born;"

I will also sponsor a bill admonishing our law enforcement departments to immediately begin enforcing this statute, notwithstanding any previous or forthcoming federal court rulings. According to the our Louisiana State Constitution Article 1 ยง26, "The people of this state have the sole and exclusive right of governing themselves as a free and sovereign state" and the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution affirms this right.

Just as David took down Goliath with only one small stone, we can take down this giant with one small change to our existing statutes.

If we are ever to right this wrong against our most innocent, it will take your committed support and determination. WithWe have a right to govern ourselves. Let's do it!
